Babies and infants can breathe only through their nose and it can take some time before an infant or baby will learn to breathe through the mouth. One of the greatest milestones of babyhood is when little ones learn to blow their noses by the time they are at age 6.
When your child has a cold, the nasal passages get swollen and mucus collects in the back of the nose. This environment is a breeding ground for the bacteria; that normally live in the nose and throat, to begin to overgrow. Mucus is also secreted within the middle ear space just as it is in the sinuses. Nasal congestion from a cold or influenza is very common and an inevitable part of childhood.
3 out of 4 children experience otitis media (ear infections) by the time they are 3-years-old. Ear infections are the most common illnesses in babies and young children. If left untreated, these problems can become more serious possibly even causing hearing loss.
The problem exists therefore as to how to clear a Childs nose, until they learn how. A clogged nose can hinder breathing make them feel jaded and may lead to more serious health problems concerning the ear nose and throat and the respiratory tract. Therefore it is very important to keep the nasal cavity clear. Naturally a check up by a health professional is not replaceable. Only a doctor may diagnose the cause of nasal secretion. The Solution
Because babies cannot clear their nose by themselves, the nose can be cleaned only with the help of a nasal Aspirator. Use
Important: Clean unit before and after each use by washing it with hot soapy water. Rinse with Hot or warm water. Do not use any detergents, chemicals or abrasives material on this.
Assembly
1. Insert the evacuator (A) into the collecting cylinder (B)
2. Turn on your vacuum
3. Insert the vacuum adapter (C) into the attachment hose on the vacuum
Operation
1. Place the child or infant in a sitting /upright position. We recommend holding the child in your lap until he/she feels comfortable with this apparatus.
2. Position the evacuator (A) so that it should fully seal one of the nostrils and hold it there for a couple of seconds while observing the discharge being deposited in the collecting cylinder (B)
3. Repeat the previous step in the same or /or the other nostril as necessary
4. You may gently rotate the evacuator in a circular pattern in steps 2 and 3 to speed up the process
5. When you are finished, turn off the vacuum and clean the apparatus as described above.
6. Repeat this process daily or as needed.
